i like suprises or my roommate is awesome

this is what I found on the ground right next to the entrance to my residence the other day after one of the trial exams. My roommate is awesome. It really cheered me up.

This weekend was such a big change compared to the whole week being isolated studying in the room. We did watch the Black Swan which is an awesome movie, especially being a mainstream Hollywood one...Natalie Portman was amazing, I loved the make-up and the filming, as well as the idea. Worth watching. Just make sure that you have good speakers and no random people making unnecessary comments.

I had my classmate visiting Duino yesterday and then two guys came from the Mostar UWC college for a visit, so many visitors, many talks and weird mood because of the lack of sleep. However, today was nice and silent and I'm ready to start reviving that small part of my brain that is devoted to Italian...Italian trial exam tomorrow.

A lot of people went to the Venice Carnival this weekend. I went there last year, but I think that I'm going next weekend again, just before London. Unless I'm dead after another week of trials, which is also full of birthdays of people that I really care about.

Pink spiky hair band

Since the last accessory post was a while ago, today I'm showing another spiky hair band (the green one can be seen here). I don't think I ever got as many comments as when I wear either one of these hair bands. Lovely.

The first week of the trial exams is over and I don't think that I have ever waited for the weekend to come as much as this week. I do not like studying as much as I had to, I enjoy learning things, but when there is no time to do everything thoroughly and when you learn only a bit of everything it doesn't satisfy me. I did understand what subjects I should care about more though.

Other than that, this week was nice. A bit cold, a bit tiring, but survivable. Tomorrow my classmate is coming to Duino and I can't wait to have a nice chat in Lithuanian! And we're watching the Black Swan today with friends, lovely!

inspirations and obsessions

something that has to be done over and over again to keep me going. Inspirations and obsessions:

The two weeks of trials have started today and after three exams I really need some inspiration, as well as sleep. Anything to share?

P.S. I have almost forgotten myself, but I have tumblr and also can be followed via bloglovin'.

Oh Verona

we had a cultural visit to Verona today. The weather was fantastic and despite of a little headache (I've been having them so much recently!) everything was perfect. Lovely city with lots of stylish people, narrow streets, amazing art and good gelato. More pictures here.
amazing Duomo di Verona
with very cool metal door with a mixture of Celtic/German/Italian art
the (fake) balcony of Juliet. There were so many people around and there was nothing to see actually.
but we still got excited, haha

Opening Ceremony

we had the opening ceremony in the college today. I know that it's weird having it in the second term, kind of towards the end of the year already, but oh well...we need to show the people that we exist. It was nice, not too long, not too many speeches, all college students dressed nicely...lovely. People in the pictures: the curly girl - my roommate Tereza from Czech Republic, the blond little girl - my neighbour Signe from Denmark, the girl with cute dimples - Renate from Norway and then last but not the least - our lovely Brit Gabriel.

By the way, I've put the bloglovin' icon on the left, follow via bloglovin' if you have an account!

Bunny box~

hello hello, today I'm presenting this bunny/doggy box I painted back home during the winter break. It took me a while, since I used oil paint which dries slowly...and also (as always) I didn't have any sketches before starting the work, so I didn't know how it is going to turn out to be. Anyway, I'm happy with the result. Since I left it at home, I have no clue what my mum uses it for, but in any case, the twin bunnies should be happy in Lithuania :)
It's so weird, I still think about myself as having dark hair, however, it is weird to see myself in the pictures with dark hair.
Inside was also painted - suprise surprise!
I've sent the Cooper Union hometest yesterday, feels very relieved and nice and at the same time a bit lost, since I've been focusing on it the whole week. Now I just can't get back to work and keep procrastinating with this awesome blog - Outsapop. I am scared by the fact that I'm getting so into fashion...hey, but I applied for graphic design! *confused*
I can't believe that I showed Shinee's 'Lucifer' video in my English class as one of the illustrations of how the males in Asia are represented in a feminine way. Taemin's long hair ftw! But on the other hand, I realised how much easier it is to do schoolwork if you are interested in the topic. I'll try to keep it this way.

news!

hello hello after some posts only with pictures. I definitely should do more photography, because I end up taking pictures of myself, just like these here, and it's a tiny bit LAME. Haha, anyway, these pictures were taken exactly a week ago, last Saturday, right before I got this e-mail that messed up my life this whole week.

I got the hometest from my top university in US which is called Cooper Union. Hometest is a set of various things you have to do in order to complete your application to the university and I completely freaked out because of the amount of things I had to do. Tons of documents, hometest with 6 works that have to be done using some particular materials and according to particular topics given, sketchbook, another type of portfolio, 12 short-essay-type questions, transcripts, faculty evaluations, etc. I've been having no life whatsoever this whole week trying to do everything that is required and I'm slowly finishing it all up, since I have to send everything on Monday. This has resulted in a serious migraine, not sleeping normally for the whole week, taking naps at random times, being sick, being very impatient with the people around and not doing any school work with which I'll have to catch up tomorrow by latest. On the other hand, I actually did a lot of artistic work which I enjoyed immensely. The only thing was the time, it's soooo stressful to feel like you're wasting time even when eating, since every single minute I'd spend drawing.

There were some things that really kept me going. First of all, my images from the 'Mercurial breaths' photoshoot were published in an Italian fashion magazine 'Spray'. You can see the issue here. Secondly, I got accepted to University for the Creative Arts Epsom in UK (London), Graphic Design:New Media course and this was one of my top choice universities in UK. I literally sat in the art centre crying after I read both of the e-mails...

I have also put the dates for my trip to UK this March. First we're going to London (7th-9th) and then to Wales, to the UWC Atlantic. I cannot wait, yet we still have to find a place to stay in London, since the couchsurfers are not replying, haha. I will also have an interview in London College of Communication while in London, omg, so excited.
