fog cloud rock

when we went up the mountains during a storm, wearing short sleeves, shorts and freezing while taking the pictures, whereas the car was having hard times dealing with the steep slopes and all the stuff I was bringing home from Italy.

Fireflies

I really don't know why this necklace reminds me of fireflies... Another weird connection in my head. Anyway. I really love how fresh green and orange look together. A colab with my mother, by the way. I'm now working every single day making accessories in the mornings and editing pictures in the evenings...Preparing for a big street market that is going to happen in the end of July and for the pictures, I have no clue when I am going to manage to edit all the GBs I have in my hard discs. Summer? Naaah, I really enjoy doing my things. Maybe will show some new accessories soon.

Brother

a few pictures of my brother that I took yesterday because he needed them for work or something. I'd love to have more guys to take pictures of, it's very different from girls. Not make-up, that matters, but the mood, pure composition and, of course, feeling. And I will do my best to make an accessory line for guys asap. I have so many ideas, yet I doubt that Lithuanian guys would wear such things...time to go international, huh? :)

Arcade Fire, Simona and I in Warsaw

Hey hey, so we got back from Warsaw today after some little and some a bit bigger adventures. 10 hours in the bus were soooo long, both when going to Warsaw and when coming back today. We got to our host's place on Thursday night, stayed up a bit talking and then went around in Warsaw in the morning. Kornel (our host), whom we found in the couchsurfing website was a very nice guy, has travelled quite a bit and for some reason knew some Italian, so I could make the jokes I'm used to making in the college...and here people don't understand, so it was a lot of fun. Couchsurfing is always a lot of fun. So yeah, we tried walking around in Warsaw a bit on Friday, which wasn't that successful, since for some reason both of us were too tired to walk. I don't know what happened, maybe the bus ride the day before just took all the energy away...plus we couldn't find any maps and therefore go to all the nice places Kornel told us about. So we got a big box of ice-cream and went to Kornel's place to have some rest before the concert. I managed to take a 30 min long nap that returned all my energy back.

And then we were off to the Torwar hall, for the Arcade Fire concert that was the main reason why we went to Warsaw at first place. Basia Bulat performed before the Arcade Fire. She was sweet, apparently of a Polish origin and spoke some Polish of which I understood maybe only like 20% because of my non-existent Russian skills. And then the Arcade Fire appeared on the stage.

I am not a 100% faithful fan of this band (or I was not:), but I've been listening to them a lot when I was in the college, especially all the songs from 'The Suburbs". But I admit, I didn't expect such a show. They were amazing. We weren't able to count how many guitars there were on the stage, they were changing them after each song and sometimes even during the songs. Hell lots of other instruments. 4 screens. Little flags and lights around two of the screens. Awesome video projections with live filming of the performance. And, of course, amazing live music.

At first I was a bit disappointed because the vocalist seemed a bit cold with the audience...yet later he gave all of his energy in his own way, which I really loved, because you could really see the different characters of the musicians and each one of them were behaving the way they liked. The audience was also cool, because everyone was singing along.

I started crying during 'The suburbs' that was joined with the "The suburbs continued" because it's my favourite song and Win Butler seemed to be singing realy deep from his heart...he was at the piano during the song and apparently there was also a screen on the piano so it looked as if he's playing in the fields...beautiful. 'Ready to start' was also amazing, as well as a very silent version of "Rococco". And the videos on the screen were very creative and inspiring too...well, enough to understand, that I liked to concert :)

It was also a lot of fun to travel with Simona since I have hardly spent any time with her during the time while I was at the college and coming home only once in a while for summer/winter holidays. And how glad I am to be home now, since my whole body needs a proper bed. Some pictures for you guys, even though I had almost no time to take any nice ones. I'll probably go to bed now too...with 'The suburbs' in my head, that is, as Win Butler described, about growing up in a shitty country with lots of fast food. Haha.

Simona and her smile

Some pictures of Warsaw with old buildings and new buildings (some of them had weird designs, e.g. holes, like in the last picture).

And thanks everyone for the comments in the last post with pictures of Marius, very much appreciated!

fell asleep with stains

Marius and his mood swings while waiting for a photoshoot last week. Gotta love the difference between the first and the second photo. So much fun working with him.

I'll be away for a few days, going to Warsaw for the Arcade Fire concert with a friend. Excited! Not for the 10-hour long bus ride though...we're leaving tomorrow in the morning, so I should also get my things ready. We will also be couchsurfing there, yay.

Got Patrick Wolf's new album, a new book by my favourite poet Eugenijus Ališanka and managed to edit some pictures, as well as to make 3 brooches. A day well spent! Well, hope you'll enjoy the pictures. I like them a lot myself. And today's song - "Hang me up to dry" by the Cold War Kids.

Last bits of Italy: Venice and Verona

My brother in Venice. Finally got around posting the pictures from the first part of our trip from Italy to Lithuania. Venice was awesome. What I love about that place is that it doesn't matter how many times you go there, it's always different. Verona was a bit hectic since we had only half a day and I was all sad because of leaving the college, but still...beautiful. Italy is a beautiful country wherever one goes, yet these two cities are among my favourite ones.

How I loved this figure, brilliant.

Some very random Lithuanian discoveries in Venice. We didn't figure out why the flag was there, but please visit the Lithuanian Pavilion at the la Biennale di Venezia!
